At Silkeborg Højskole you will experience Danish college life at its best. In a strong community of young, curious, open-minded people from different cultures you will live, learn, explore, sing and grow – together.

We teach more than 40 different subjects. Based on your interests you may create your own schedule. Choose one main subject, two existential subjects and 3-5 elective subjects.

Main subjects

Existential subjects 

explore the essential “WHYs” of life from different angles and may include:
The good life, Intercultural learning or other subjects taught in English.

Elective subjects

often have a more practical scope and may include:
MTB, Ceramics, Music, Beer brewing, Kayaking, Songwriting, Volley, Swimming etc.

The main language of teaching is Danish. However, English interpretation will be provided in most subjects and common activities. A number of subjects taught in English is also provided each semester.

Study tours 

Travel with us to e.g. Suth Korea, Norway, The Balkans, India, Ghana, Kenya, USA or Belgium.
