Vestjyllands Højskole

Vestjylland Folk High School is a curious, down-to-earth, and creative folk high school. The school is located far to the west. The landscape is flat, and the wind really picks up. Here, the sky feels endless, winter is dark, and the starry night sky is absolutely spectacular. Vestjylland Folk High School is an ideal place to go analog and slow down, even though it’s rarely quiet here. Here we immerse ourselves together – in nature, in each other, and in the present day –through more than 20 subjects. With views of Ringkøbing Fjord, close to the North Sea, and under the most incredible starry sky, we explore how a good life can be lived more sustainably – together. At Vestjylland Folk High School, we’re committed to giving each individual – and each other – time and space. There’s room for everyone who dares to practice, and who wants to embrace the world. We use the folk high school as a laboratory for the society of the future. The idea of self-sufficiency is deeply integrated into our subjects – for example when we build eco-friendly tiny houses, spin wool from the school’s own sheep, get our hands in the soil, preserve vegetables, and engage in public debate.
