Spring 2027 - Learn filmmaking: scriptwriting, film photography, directing, sound design, grading, editing
Filmhøjskolen MønFilmhøjskolen Møn is a creative folk high school focused on film. We are based in historic buildings in the heart of the town of Stege. We are a smaller school that places great value on community and collaboration.
Each day begins with a morning assembly and singing; the rest of the day consists of rotating courses led by skilled professionals from the Danish film industry. All students follow the same curriculum, and many of the courses are based on group collaboration.
At the end of the semester, the students have created a graduation film, which is screened at our big graduationparty.
As a student at the school, you will encounter courses such as:
TECHNICAL INTRODUCTION: An introduction to basic filmmaking skills: camera, sound, and editing
SKETCHES: Capturing ideas
EMOTIONAL CORE: Discovering each individual's inner narrative
SCREENWRITING: Developing ideas and crafting a screenplay
FILMPRODUCTION: The producer's role and the filmmaking workflow; production of short films
POST-PRODUCTION: The post-production workflow: assembling the edit and enhancing the sound
In addition, we have weekly classes dedicated to community building and personal development, through a course called *Sammen&Selv* (Together&Self). Here, we also work with acting and instruction.
Filmscreenings and filmanalysis are part of the weekly curriculum.
