Folk high school stay with focus on design, fellowship and unforgetteble experiences

Den Skandinaviske Designhøjskole

The Scandinavian Design College (DSDH) is for everyone. Whether you plan to apply to higher education or would like to spend half a year or a full year at a folk high school where you can immerse yourself in a subject area of your choice before moving on to something completely different.

Many of our students use a stay at DSDH to clarify whether they want to pursue further education within one of our five lines.

Our five main subjects are: Architecture, Fashion & Textile, Visual Communication & Graphic Design, Furniture, Space & Product Design, and Ceramics.

A stay at DSDH involves plenty of time in the main subjects, weeks with elective subjects – these can include choir, photography, drawing, painting, paper weaving, theater, sustainable building, cooking, furniture, wool, print workshop, and many different projects and events initiated by the students themselves.

Each semester the student and staff are on a study trip – often to Amsterdam in the autumn and Berlin in the spring. The teachers have unique networks, which means that DSDH's study trips are both a communal trip with lots of social activities and experiences, and numerous visits to agencies, architectural firms, studios, and galleries.

Both in the spring and autumn, there is the opportunity to receive guidance for entrance exams to design, architecture, media, and journalism schools, and art academies both in Denmark and abroad.
