Roskilde Festival HøjskoleDo you love to sing? Join us for a week at a folk high school with both communal singing and choral singing at the center. Whether you’re an experienced singer or prefer to hide your voice in the crowd, you’re welcome to sing with us!
You’ll sing with both heart and mind as we approach the songs as a cultural and a musical phenomenon. Singing together in beautiful multi-part arrangements takes on a special dimension when you also understand their historical and cultural background.
This year’s theme: “My song – our songs”
We all have our favorite songs from the Danish song tradition. What are yours? What is special about the Danish relationship with communal singing? How has the Folk High School Songbook been renewed (yet preserved) over 130 years and 19 editions? What happens to the songs when they unfold into choral harmonies?
