Bornholms Højskole is located in the middle of the rocky island in the Baltic Sea with forest, sea and open land. Here you will meet skilled teachers, be challenged with your hands, body and mind. The college is rich in tradition in Ceramics, Glass, Jewelry, Art and Textiles, where you immerse yourself in materials and techniques. In Outdoor, Grounding and Body & Mind, we act in nature with movement and self-insight.
About the school
Bornholms Højskole is located by Ekkodalen, surrounded by forest, fields and dramatic cliffs. The low, red and white buildings cast light and warmth into the nature, and at the shelter area with a campfire hut you can experience the silence and power of nature up close.
Here you will meet committed teachers who guide, challenge and set demands – whether with clay, glass, brushes, silver jewelry or textiles. In Outdoor you will try your hand at kayaking, climbing and other wild experiences. You will work with sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship, and in Krop og sind you will get tools for peace and self-insight.
The school is full of creativity, seriousness, partying and play. Plenty of time for your subjects, your new friends and your own ideas. Community, learning and experiences go hand in hand – and you will bring good experiences home with you.
With only 10–15 km to beaches, rocky coasts and port towns, the school is the perfect base for hikes, outdoor adventures, trips and winter swimming in the island's warm saunas.
As a sustainable school, we take responsibility for the climate and environment at all levels. With 15 electives, you can supplement your main lines with everything from beer brewing to martial arts, writing workshops, literature and political philosophy.
