Children

Not all schools have the capacity for you to bring your children – but some do.

While folk high schools generally do not offer full- or part-time childcare during the day, some may be able to assist you in finding local kindergartens or schools. In most cases, however, you are expected to make childcare and school arrangements yourself.

If you plan to bring your children, please note that each child must also obtain the proper documentation required for foreigners residing in Denmark.

Short-term courses for families

Some folk high schools offer short-term courses specifically designed for families with children. In these cases, the entire family is welcome, and both children and adults are invited to take part in the program together. These courses are typically held during school holidays and are a great way to experience folk high school life as a family.

Find a school

Denmark has around 70 folk high schools approved by the Ministry of Culture, each offering a wide range of unique courses and experiences across the country.
