Here at Snoghøj, we are passionate about creating art and performing arts together!
Let your heart and passion guide you to your very own customized schedule based on your core subject and a wide range of elective subjects.
In addition to high-quality teaching, we are widely known for building warm, inclusive, and respectful communities in which everyone thrives and grows - together and as individuals!
About the school
At Snoghøj Folk High School, we create art and performing arts together every day while gaining deeper insights into life.
We are a school with a strong sense of community and with room for immersion. We offer a wide range of elective subjects and you can choose to immerse yourself in performing arts from morning 'til evening. Or you can explore subjects like ceramics, upcycling, or even sea kayaking. The choice is yours, as you have significant influence over your schedule!
But we are so much more than just what we teach! A year with us offers reflective moments with views over the Little Belt, evenings by the fire with guitar music and communal singing, trips to New York and Berlin, exciting conversations, and meaningful connections. You may even find that you both change – and become more yourself.
We emphasize that Snoghøj becomes your home-away-from-home. Here, you can truly be yourself - and just be. Pause and breathe. Create memories and join a community that we all contribute to and thrive within.

Courses and topics
Snoghøj Folk High School is one of Denmark's folk high schools where we believe in the meeting of different nationalities in an international spirit. This - in our experience - will make us all wiser about life, art, and each other!
For this reason, most of our subjects are taught in English. Beside your main subject in "Producing, performing artist" you can choose between a wide range of electives. For example solo singing, dance and acting. This allows you to create a schedule with well over 20 hours of theater training per week.
However, you can also choose to complement your main subject with ceramics, sea kayaking, or yoga if you're curious about different topics and subjects. The choice is yours— in our school as in life.
In addition to artistic and performing arts courses, you will participate in morning assemblies, where we discuss cultural topics. These assemblies are mostly in Danish, with simultaneous translation into English.
Every Friday, we end the week with a choir session and a gathering where we enjoy some cake as well. At Snoghøj you'll experience high quality teaching and a strong, warm, including community - all in one!
