WRITERS ROOM: Script writing course at Filmhøjskolen Møn
Filmhøjskolen MønFilmhøjskolen på Møn is a creative folk high school focused on film. We are based in historic buildings in the heart of the town of Stege. With a maximum capacity of 35 students, we are a small school that places great value on community and collaboration—both because it fosters personal growth and because it makes us better filmmakers.
With our new "Writers Room" track (launching in January 2027), we are placing a special emphasis on the craft of writing!
During the semester, students will delve into the dramaturgy and methods behind a great screenplay. Instruction will be provided by two of the country’s most talented screenwriters and educators: Lars Detlefsen and Oliver Zahle. Additionally, students will meet many active screenwriters from the film and TV industries.
Students will share daily life at the school—and participate in select projects—alongside our main "Filmmaker" course. This includes our weekly classes on community and personal development, where we also explore acting and directing actors.
Film screenings and analysis are also regular weekly features of the curriculum.
You should choose the "Writers Room" course if you want to gain unique skills in screenwriting! Perhaps you aim to attend film school, work in television, or become a writer? The "Writers Room" course will equip you for all of these paths!
