Songwriting

Roskilde Festival Højskole

When we first meet in the music room, you may not yet know your preferred style of songwriting. You may even be unsure what you have to say when someone asks what your songs should be about.

But when you leave the folk high school a week later, you’ll have no doubt that you have something to say – and in such a distinctive way that others will want to listen.

Songwriting in Week 29 is about intention, relevance and being compelling on stage.

We’ll explore live performance as a whole, focusing on everything that happens before and after the performance – from the creative process to the final delivery, and performance as a form of stage art.

We’ll create a flexible programme that can adapt to each participant’s level, abilities and ambitions.
